In the historical centre of Florence, just a short walk from the Duomo, you will have the opportunity to study the language, culture and Italian art in an international and interesting setting. Our school offers Italian language courses for all levels and needs: private lessons or in a group, intensive or super intensive and private lessons that can be combined with group lessons.
The most common course of the Leonardo da Vinci School is the intensive one: 4 lessons per day each lasting 45 minutes from Monday to Friday, for a weekly total of 20 lessons. The first day of lessons, the students who have already studied Italian have to take a brief placement test, which helps us put the student in the right class for the student’s level. Beginners however, start their lessons immediately. Lessons for beginner groups start on specific dates, while those who have already studied Italian can start every Monday.
The Italian Language Super Intensive course is recommended for those who want to make the most of the language stay in Italy, which includes two extra lessons a day each lasting 45 minutes (for a total of 30 lessons per week). These two additional lessons concentrate mostly on conversation.
The school offers four elementary levels, four intermediate levels and one advanced level. Our teaching follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
All lessons are held entirely in Italian, as well as our history of art visits and leisure activities. Our Italian language courses are focused on grammar and vocabulary, the ability to read, write, and speak; above all, to be able to communicate.
For each level, the students will receive the necessary books and teaching materials developed by the School, thanks to the teachers’ experience. The students will receive their books and teaching materials directly from the teachers on the first day.
All levels of courses, from the beginners to the advanced course, are available throughout the year. The minimum age to be able to participate is 16 years old and the maximum number of students in a class is 14
